Athens, Ga. –
Although inclement weather forced the Thursday morning preliminary session
of the 2004 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships to be
cancelled, the finals session will take place under a modified schedule. The South Carolina women’s squad sits in fourth place after day one with the men’s team in sixth place.

Preliminary events have been eliminated, and all Thursday’s swimming events
will be timed finals beginning at 4 p.m. Diving competition will begin with
the women’s 3-meter event at 2:30 p.m.

Gabrielsen Natatorium will open its doors to the public at 1:30 p.m.
