COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Gamecocks fell to arch-rival Clemson Wednesday afternoon, 6-1. The loss is the first to Clemson since 1995, the first loss in ten matches. Carolina returns to Southeastern Conference action Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. as they host the third-ranked Ole Miss Rebels at the Sam Daniel Tennis Center.
South Carolina fell in the doubles point, but did come away with a win at No. 2 doubles. Tom Eklund and Marcus Westman topped John Boetsch and Damiisa Robinson, 8-6.
Tom Eklund was the only Gamecock to come away with a win in singles competition with a win at No. 2 singles. Ben Atkinson and Pedro Rodrigues fell at singles Nos. 5 and 6, respectively, in third set tiebreakers.
