April 22, 2004

South Carolina team captain Adrienne Gautreaux was named to the inaugural 2004 SEC Women’s Golf Good Works Teams for her efforts in the community.

The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league-sponsored sports. The Good Works Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Gautreaux, a senior from Mabank, Texas, is a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald Golf Tournament. She assisted with the Harvest Hope Food Drive and the South Carolina State Trooper Bear Drive. She visited Epworth Children’s Home to read and talk with the children and recently spoke to the Lexington Middle School Beta Club. Gautureax also joined Lexington students at the OWLS Campsite. Last fall, Gautreaux participated an asthma meeting at Children’s Hospital.

In the classroom, Gautreaux was named to the President’s List last fall for acheivements in her hotel, restaurant and tourism management graduate studies after graduating last spring with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She is a two-time All-SEC Academic Honor Roll. Last summer, Gautreaux was invited to attend an NCAA Leadership Workshop in Orlando, Florida.

On the course, Gautreaux was selected by her teammates as the 2003-04 captain for her leadership abilities and carries the team’s low-stroke average.
