Columbia,S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team had a successful weekend at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Associations’ National Championship, which was hosted by Middle Tennessee State, held in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Junior Tara Brothers won the Hunter Seat National Title known as the Cacchione Cup. She also finished second in the country in Open Equitation Over Fences. Senior Kyra Hufford finished seventh in the nation in Walk/Trot/Canter. Freshman Rachel Sternoff placed seventh in the Open Horsemanship National Competition. Senior Lindsey Wilson was 9th nationally in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.

“We had a very good weekend” Coach Boo Duncan said. ” To have taken four individuals to the IHSA National Championship and have all four finish in the top 10 was a great way to end the year. I am very proud of the efforts given by Lindsey, Kyra, Rachel and Tara this weekend. “
