With the sun shining finally today in Austin at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, South Carolina will watch eight athletes compete in five semi-finals and finals. In addition, the womens’ 4x400m relay will also compete in tonight’s prelims. Due to the postponement of many events yesterday, a number of field events will not run prelims, but go straight to semi-finals with the top nine advancing to the finals.

Those from Carolina competing today in prelims/semifinals/finals include the following:

Chelsea Hammond, Kemeshia Whitmire – women’s long jump

Erica Whipple, Khalilah Carpenter, Stephanie Smith – women’s 200m

Tony Allmond – men’s long jump

Fred Townsend – men’s 110m hurdles

Ronnetta Alexander – 100m hurdles

USC’s women’s 4x400m relay –
