Bertagne, France – The South Carolina trio of Ilona Burgrova, Lea Fabbri and Iva Sliskovic completed preliminary competition at the 2004 FIBA U-20 European Championships in pool play. Gamecock signee Ilona Burgrova and her native country The Czech Repubic defeated Poland 70-53 to finish with a 4-1 pool record, the best record in Pool B. Croatia, with Fabbri and Sliskovic, lost to Spain 74-58. Croatia finishes Pool B with a 2-3 record.

For the second consecutive game Burgrova scored 12 points to lead the Czech offensive attack to go along with 14 rebounds for a double-double. Burgrova is currently fourth in the tournament in rebounds averaging 8.0 per game.

Croatia got another good outing from Fabbri and Sliskovic despite the loss. Fabbri played a team-high 32 minutes and scored eight points with Sliskovic finishing the game with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
