Bertagne, France – The South Carolina women’s basketball team trio of Ilona Burgrova, Lea Fabbri and Iva Sliksovic concluded competition at the 2004 FIBA U-20 European Championships. Gamecock signee Ilona Burgrova and her native country The Czech Repubic won the bronze medal with a 72-52 win over Hungary. Croatia, with Fabbri and Sliskovic, lost to the Slovak Republic 84-55 in the seventh place game.

Burgrova finished the bronze medal game with 12 points and seven rebounds in 37 minutes played. She finished the tournament with an average of 7.8 rebounds per game, the fifth highest total in the tournament.

Sliskovic ended up with 12 points while Fabbri scored three points in the loss for Croatia.
