The South Carolina men’s soccer team opens its 2004 season on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium with a non-conference match vs. William & Mary. USC looks to continue its success in home openers at the Graveyard as the Gamecocks head into the match having won seven straight dating back to 1997. This evening’s match is one of three matches that the Gamecocks will have at home in the month of September.

South Carolina travels to Jacksonville this weekend for a match on Sunday before returning home next weekend for the adidas-South Carolina Gamecock Classic. Carolina will face Bucknell on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee matchup at 2:30 p.m. vs. Portland.

Last week in exhibition play the Gamecocks gave a strong peformance in a scoreless tie with Virginia. South Carolina outshot the Cavaliers 17-9 with Brad Guzan earning a shutout in goal for USC. He had three saves on the evening.
