Sunriver, Ore. – Day two action at the Mercedes Benz of Bend NCAA Women’s Golf Fall Preview wrapped up with South Carolina sophomore Jenna Pearson shooting a three-over-par 74 and the Gamecocks sitting in 16th place in action played at the Meadows Golf Course at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore..

After firing a two-under 69 in round one action Monday, Pearson currently stands in a tie for 15th place and is eight strokes off the lead with one day to play. After bogeying the par-four first hole, Pearson was steadily at par for the remainder of the front nine. She birdied both the 10th and the 12th holes before giving those two strokes back with a double bogey on the par-three 13th. After bouncing back with a par on number 14, she took a seven on the par-four 15th hole to go to four over par. Pearson rebounded to go par, birdie, par on the last three holes and finish her day at three over.

Gamecock senior Tiffany Catafygiotu also carded a three-over 74 in the second round, rebounding from a nine-over-par showing in the first round of the tournament. Her day was highlighted by birdies on holes number 2, 5 and 17.

After a solid front nine in which she achieved par on every hole, true freshman Caroline Rominger finished her second round at five strokes over par, with fellow freshman Laura Raffo seven over for the day. Sophomore Megan Miller battled through a nine-over par showing Tuesday.

Final round action resumes Wednesday.
