FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team remains in 17th place out of 18 teams through the second day of play on Saturday at the Mason Rudolph Challenge, played at the Vanderbilt Legends Golf Course in Franklin, Tenn.

Freshman Blythe Worley, who is competing in her first collegiate tournament, paced the Gamecocks on Saturday by shooting a one-over-par 73. She is nine over for the tournament and tied for 52nd.

Sophomore Jenna Pearson matched her score from Friday, carding a four-over-par 76. Pearson’s two-day total of 152 puts her tied for 44th individually, the best among South Carolina’s contingent.

Freshman Whitney Simons carded an 81, which puts her 14-over for the tournament. Senior Tiffany Catafygiotu fired an 83 and sits 18-over, and freshman Caroline Rominger shaved five strokes off her total from Friday to shoot an 80.

The Gamecocks will close out play in the Challenge on Sunday.
