Gainesville, Florida – The University of South Carolina men’s swimming and diving team was defeated this afternoon at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville. The Gamecocks competed against the fourth ranked Gators and the Texas Longhorns. Both teams proved to be tough opponents for the Gamecocks.

Senior diver Andy Bradley had a good outing with wins on both the 1 meter board (335.55) and the 3 meter board (324.80). This is the second time in two meets Bradley has taken wins on both boards. Senior Dean Emmerton took home a second place finish on the 3 meter board with a score of 302.90.

Sophomore Colby Mack was just below a “B” Standard in the 200 yard free style with a time of 1:39.99 and a fourth place finish for the Gamecocks. Freshman Dan White built on his performances from last week with a fourth place finish in the 1000 yard free style and a third place finish in the 500 yard free style close behind Olympian Ryan Lochte of Florida. The combination of Mack, Reid Duff, Tamas Bathazi and Dane Patching brought home a third place finish in the 400 yard free style relay.

The Gamecocks return to action on Saturday, November 20 as they travel to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on the Cavaliers.
