Auburn, Ala. – The men had an outstanding performance tonight in the 800 yard freestyle relay. The combination of Tamas Bathazi, Colby Mack, Reid Duff, and Dan White captured the top finish beating Auburn by less than a second in a tight race. The relay team finished with a time of 6:36.03 which is an NCAA “B” Standard qualifying time. Mack also had a “B” Standard in the 200 yard freestyle (1:38.08), along with Bathazi (1:38.66) and White (1:38.97) which were also “B” Standards.
For the women, Mandee Cregar continued her success from last night’s events with a top finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. She finished with a time of 1:05.51. Freshman, Kasey Tamkun also had a good outing with a top five finish in the 100 yard backstroke (57.61).
The Gamecocks wrap up the Auburn Invitational tomorrow in the final day of competition with prelims beginning at 9 a.m. and finals beginning at 4 p.m. All times are central.
