Post Game Quotes: USC vs LSU
USC Head Coach Susan Walvius
Regarding her general thoughts: “I was pleased with the way our team came out and played in the first half. LSU is a great team.”
Regarding LSU’s 26-0 run: “Things started to go their way and we dropped our heads. That’s one of the things they’ve got to learn. Tennessee faces teams that make runs, LSU faces teams that make runs. Connecticut faces teams that make runs. It’s how you respond to that. We responded today with frustration and lack of execution where we need to respond with a little more determination.”
“A lot of bad passing today that really forced things, getting out of the fundamentals of the game.”
“This stretch to have to go to Georgia, play LSU here and then go to Tennessee is one of the toughest stretches that I think any team in any sport could play.”
LSU Head Coach Pokey Chatman: Regarding the game as a whole: “I didn’t think in the first half offensively we were very methodical in our approach in terms of how we wanted to attack South Carolina and a lot of that had to do with our mental approach to the game.”
“Thankfully at second half, at halftime we regrouped and came out and made them guard us.”
Regarding a mental hangover from the Tennessee game: “It looked that way and honestly that is what surprised me about this particular team because they are so good about perspective. “
“I think it looks that way when you look at the halftime score in terms of not be methodical in our approach.”
