Tiffany Catafygiotu can look back on her collegiate career with fond memories of an SEC championship, three trips to Augusta National, participating in the TOPY Cup in Japan and numerous academic honors. All this withstanding, South Carolina’s lone senior feels no added pressure heading into her final collegiate season.

“I don’t really see myself as a senior,” Catafygiotu said. “I look at myself as just another member of the team.”

Although Catafygiotu does not quite feel like a senior just yet, she understands that her days at South Carolina are quickly drawing to an end. She looks forward to her post- graduate life that will keep her close to her Carolina teammates. After graduation Catafygiotu will pursue a Masters in Accounting at South Carolina, and looks forward to living with three of her current teammates.

“I will miss being with my teammates every day, and getting to know them. I will really miss being a part of the team.” Catafygiotu said.

According to junior Laura McCaslin the feeling is mutual. “Tiffany is a friend to the whole team. She has a different style of leadership. Tiffany keeps us all relaxed by making us laugh and entertaining us. She is the heart of this team.”

Catafygiotu would not consider herself the heart of the South Carolina women’s golf team. “I’m not a natural leader or anything like that,” Catafygiotu said. “I am just really laid back.”

It is her laid back and humble nature that Catafygiotu’s teammates will miss the most.

“Tiffany is really humble, she isn’t going to tell you how much she means to the team or anything like that,” McCaslin said. ” We are going to miss her a lot, we’ll have to find a new way to relax.”
