BERN, Switzerland – BERN, Switzerland–Former Gamecock golfer Martin Rominger recently won the Swiss Golf Association’s 2004 Order of Merit Award in the men’s category in his home country of Switzerland.

Rominger won the award with 563.10 points, earning points from wins in three of the four events he played: the Endine Championship, the Swiss Championship and the Central Swiss Championship. He also received an invitation to the final stage of the British Open Qualifier after finishing fourth at the World Amateur Championship.

Rominger played three years at South Carolina under head coach Puggy Blackmon. He was a member of the 2004 PING All-Southeast Region team and the SEC’s 2004 all-conference second team. He also was named a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar last spring.
