The Carolina Equestrian team is scheduled to travel to the University of Kentucky Saturday March 26th to take on UK’s riding club. The two teams will meet and compete at the Kentucky Horse Park located in Lexington, KY. The time of the competition is yet to be determined.

Unlike the competition last week against College of Charleston, the two teams will ride western as well as huntseat. Competing in the horsemanship division are Courtney Borton, Allison Bradley, Rachel Sternoff, Katy Biffle, and Ashleigh Collins. In reining, Ashleigh Collins, Lindsay Williams, Rachel Sternoff, Laura Pipkin, and Katy Biffle will ride. During the huntseat competitions, Tara Brothers, Sarah Lowe, Claire Sharp, Carly Johns, Kelley Campbell will compete. Tara Brothers, Chelsea Koornick, Sarah Lowe, Kelly Campbell and Caitlin Sands will ride against UK in equitation over fences.

“This will be our first time competing with Kentucky in this format,” commented Head Coach Boo Duncan. “The meet will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park so we know the facility will be tremendous. The state of Kentucky is rich with horses and riding talent so our work will be cut out for us this weekend.”

In the previous meet against the College of Charleston the Gamecocks landed their first victory in over a month and are currently 3-6. USC is eager for another win before they host the Southern Equestrian Championship on the 9th of May.
