Surpassing the $13 million mark on Friday, May 13, the
Gamecock Club is on its way to collecting a record number of donations again
this year. The previous record was $12 million (2004).
“The Gamecock fans have once again demonstrated their intense loyalty and support of Carolina athletics through their support of the Gamecock Club this year,” said Gamecock Club Director Jeff Barber.
USC has collected $1.2 million in new money this year with the money coming
from new members and current members increasing their donation. In
addition, the Gamecock Club added 568 new members this year pushing its
total to more 14,200 members, including 130 Golden Spurs.
The 20 Gamecock Club annual meetings will conclude on May 25 when Richland County hosts the final meeting of the year at Seawell’s. The Gamecock Club meetings, in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, have been attended by record numbers this spring.
