Southern California was crowned champion on Tuesday at the 2005 Wachovia Junior Davis Cup Tournament with a 6-1 victory over Texas. It is their second consecutive championship and eighth overall. This marks the first time that a team has won consecutive Junior Davis Cup Championships since Southern repeated in 1998 and 1999.

Southern Cal took two of the three doubles contest to take an early 1-0 lead. In singles, Southern California took five of the six single matches with only one of those going into three sets. The top singles match went to Southern California’s Michael McClune who is ranked 83rd in the nation. McClune knocked off second ranked Conor Pollock 7-6,6-1.
