Budapest, Hungary – The South Carolina women’s basketball team claimed a 94-54 exhibition win over Beac BBC Friday in the third game of the team’s five-game European tour.

Breaking from their pattern of sluggish starts on this exhibition tour, the Gamecocks raced out to an 8-0 lead to start Friday’s contest and did not look back, holding a 24-9 lead at the end of the first quarter to set the tone for the game. Guard Lea Fabbri scored a team-high 20 points, dished out four assists and had two steals to lead the way for Carolina. Guard Angela Hunter finished with 19 points, four rebounds and three steals, with forward Iva Sliskovic adding 19 points and a team-best eight rebounds.

Other Gamecocks in double-figures were forward Melanie Johnson (13 points, three rebounds) and Lakesha Tolliver (10 points, six rebounds). Guard Stacy Booker distributed a team-high eight assists to accompany her three points. Carolina utilized worked its inside-outside offense well and capitalized on its athleticism to force Beac into several turnovers that resulted in transition baskets.

Next up for the Gamecocks is an exhibition contest against Zara Volan Saturday night in Zagreb, Croatia.
