Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina freshman forward Alex Mouton was named SEC Freshman of the Week following her performance over the weekend for the Gamecocks. Mouton scored both goals in Carolina’s 2-0 win over Alabama on Sunday afternoon, her first multi-goal match of her career at Carolina.

The Columbia native has played in all nine matches this year and made two starts this weekend for the Gamecocks. Mouton has three goals and one assist on the season. She became only the second player this season to score more than one goal in a match for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina returns to action on Friday, Sept. 30 at Georgia with the match set for 7 p.m. USC also travels to Tennessee this weekend for a 2 p.m. match on Sunday, Oct. 2. The Gamecocks are 5-4 and 1-1 in the SEC entering the week.
