Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s cross country team return to action at the midway point of their season, traveling to the 13th annual Auburn Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8. Auburn will host the event, which will be held at Indian Pines Golf Course. Competition will begin with the men’s 8K at 9:30 a.m. CT, followed by the women’s 5K at 10:30 a.m.

The event will feature 28 teams, including four other SEC teams; Auburn, Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State. Alabama’s team is currently the only ranked in the FinishLynx poll, released on Oct. 3.

According to USC cross country Stan Rosenthal: “The meet will be a good chance for the Gamecocks to excel. We are working hard and taking one race at a time.”

Following the Auburn Invitational, the Gamecocks will return to action at the Appalachian State Invitational next Saturday at 10:00 am. Complete coverage will be available at www.uscsports.com.
