The Gamecock equestrian team will host their second home competition of the season when they take on the University of Georgia Bulldogs for the second time this season on Friday, October 21st at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C.
South Carolina traveled to Athens, Ga. for their second competition of the season for the inaugural Big Eight English Tournament hosted by Georgia on Oct. 7-8th. The Gamecocks had a strong performance all the way through falling short only four points of the Bulldogs with a score of 411 to 407. The Gamecocks look to take the home field advantage on Friday and gain their second win of the season.
Georgia is the only team that has been able to finish ahead of the Gamecocks this season. Their season opener at home was a clean sweep against the Kentucky Wildcats with a total of 1224.5 points to Kentucky’s 1148.5. In the competition at Georgia, USC defeated six teams, including New Mexico State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Baylor, South Dakota State and Fresno State.
Friday’s competition at One Wood Farm in Blythewood is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. Results will be available immediately following the competition at www.uscsports.com.
