Columbia, S.C. –
South Carolina equestrian travels to Auburn, Ala. to face the Tigers Saturday, November 5th at 10 a.m. (central) at the Auburn Horse Center. The defending national champion Gamecocks are looking to get back to their winning ways after a narrow defeat to Georgia two weeks ago at their home in Blythewood.

The western riders came out on top against the Bulldogs, but Georgia came out with the win thanks to a strong performance in the hunt seat competition. The loss dropped South Carolina to 1-1 on the season, with a season-opening victory over Kentucky.

The Gamecocks also competed in the inaugural Big Eight English Tournament in Athens, Ga. earlier this season. South Carolina finished in second place behind Georgia in a field that also included Baylor, Fresno State, New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, South Dakota State, and Texas A&M.

Auburn is a perfect 2-0 on the season with wins over Ohio State and Stephen F. Austin. The Tigers defeated South Carolina twice last season.
The match will conclude the fall portion of the Gamecocks schedule, with their next competition not coming until January in the Western Tournament hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
