South Carolina vs. USC-Aiken (Exhibition)

USC Head Coach Dave Odom Quotes:
On the game:
“We played awfully well early and I was very pleased with that. I thought we played well all night, we really did. The last five or six minutes it was difficult to keep it going…but I think overall we got out of tonight exactly what I wanted to get out of it, that was a win. We got to see different combinations, we wanted everyone to play at least double-figure minutes and we got that accomplished, and we wanted to feel good about ourselves…It was a good night for us.”
On USC-Aiken:
“If you look at the USC-Aiken crowd, they’re not where we are, but I was impressed with the level of coaching I saw on their team. In a short period of time Coach Alexander has done a remarkable job getting the players into his system and you saw some things tonight that are extremely hard to teach, and we didn’t combat it very well. I give them a lot of credit.”
On the lineup combinations:
“I put Tre Kelley in there on purpose with the newcomers, I thought he would give them direction and they’d feel comfortable with him. I thought that was pretty good. Dominique Archie’s got the hardest job, he’s playing two positions at the same time. Inside and outside are different, it’s not like left wing and right wing. It’s post and outside. I thought he played pretty well.”
USC Aiken Head Coach Vince Aleander Quotes:
On USC Aiken:
“I have a positive outlook on our team, we are playing hard and working well together. When our nerves settled in the second half we started playing much better.”
On USC:
“I think USC has a lot of talent, they should have a good shot in being in the top of the SEC this year.”
