South Carolina Head Coach Dave Odom
“I have never coached a game where you shoot your first free throw with 18 seconds left in the game. I thought Palacios played well. I was not concerned with his scoring, just wanted him to get comfortable. Brandon Wallace is showing signs of leadership. Our reserves had a difficult ending against Winthrop, but tonight they played well. This is an important week coming up. We need to play really well and win the game at Temple. We are shooting and playing well, if we have three good days of practice, we should play really well. Renaldo getting in foul trouble is something we have to watch, as we develop depth at that position. When Stephen is open, there is no one else I d rather have shooting.
Wofford Coach Mike Young:
We were beaten soundly by a flat out better team. We are not ready to handle teams the caliber of South Carolina. I admire a team like USC, they are going to have a successful season.
Brandon Wallace:
I was having fun. It s been my resolution to just go out there and have fun.
Keving Palacios:
I finally had the opportunity to help my team win some games. Coach wanted me to play defense, so that s what I went out to do. I want to help my team win games. (My first start) felt good. I haven t started in a long time, but it doesn t matter if I start or come off the bench, I just want to go rebound the ball and play good defense.
