The South Carolina men’s soccer team will be honored for winning the 2005 Conference USA Tournament Championship Wednesday night’s men’s basketball game with Florida. Head coach Mark Berson, his staff and players will be recognized on the court with a brief video presentation on the Colonial Center video board at halftime.

In the team’s first year of competing in Conference USA, the Gamecocks captured the C-USA Tournament title in Dallas, Texas, on Nov. 13. The No. 2 seed, Carolina advanced past Kentucky via shootout in the first round, defeated Memphis, 2-1, in the semifinals and shut down Tulsa, 1-0, to claim the championship and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The Gamecocks finished with a 12-7-2 record in 2005 and a made the 18th appearance in school history in the NCAA Tournament.
