Former athletics department budget director Jeff Tallant, has accepted a position as Chief Financial Officer for the University of South Carolina Athletics Department, USC Athletics Director Eric Hyman announced today.
“Jeff was a logical choice for this position,” said Hyman. “He has a familiarity in the system – both in the athletics department and in the University. He comes highly recommended by people within the athletics department and is well-respected throughout the campus. He knows the people and has a love for Carolina, which will help us as we move forward.”
Tallant worked as the athletics budget director from 2002-05, overseeing all accounting operations for the department and for the Colonial Center. The 33-year-old Columbia native has been a USC employee since 1997, serving for five years as a university senior auditor before joining the athletics department. Over the past nine months Tallant has worked on campus as a university audit manager. He will begin his duties on March 27.

I am looking forward to working with the best coaches and staff in the country as well as the many changes and challenges on the horizon for the Athletics department.”
Tallant, a graduate of Lower Richland High School, is a 1996 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified business manager (CBM). He is a member of the South Carolina Association of CPAs (SCACPA) and is currently serving as vice president for the South Carolina State Internal Auditors Association (SCSIAA).
Tallant and his wife, Dani, have three children, Chaz (11), Ty (8) and Kenzie (3).
