COLUMBIA, S.C. – Friday’s South Carolina-Kentucky men’s tennis match will be played at its original time of 2 p.m. The match will also be Senior Day at the Sam Daniel Tennis Center, and the Gamecocks (11-11, 3-5 SEC) will honor seniors Adam Adler, Tom Eklund and Geraldo Knorr prior to the match against the 21st-ranked Wildcats (15-5, 6-2).

Carolina swept a pair of SEC West foes last weekend, downing then-No. 48 Auburn, 4-3, on March 31, before coming back from a 3-0 deficit to top the 40th-ranked Crimson Tide of Alabama, 4-3, on April 2. The Gamecocks used those wins to move up 13 spots in this week’s Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings to No. 43, making the largest jump in the rankings for USC since it rocketed up a school-record 25 places between Mar. 1 and Mar. 8 last season, following wins over 38th-ranked Arkansas and No. 9 LSU to open its 2005 SEC slate.

Following Friday’s contest against UK, the Gamecocks will travel to take on Vanderbilt in a noon contest at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday, April 9. Two of the biggest matches of the year await Carolina following their trip to Vanderbilt, as it will head to the Upstate to face archrival Clemson in midweek action on Wednesday, April 12, and then close out its regular season against Florida in Gainesville, Fla., on April 15.
