Columbia, S.C. –

South Carolina Head Coach Kent DeMars:
“It’s a great win for us, and I think it pretty much puts us in the NCAA Tournament. We lost the doubles point, but I told the guys in the break that Kentucky was beatable and we needed to pull out a win like we did after we lost the point to Alabama last weekend. They responded and came out and we won four straight matches, so I’m pretty happy with the win.”

Senior Tom Eklund:
“It’s great to get a win like this on Senior Day. I’m proud of the guys, we lost the doubles point and everyone gave everything out there. It was a great team effort and I think it’s really good to beat Kentucky, especially to get four straight singles wins like that.”

Senior Adam Adler:
“This win puts us in great shape for the NCAA Tournament, and to beat a team like Kentucky today is good. We fought hard out there and it shows everyone around the country that we can win and beat anybody, no matter the circumstances.”
