BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of South Carolina men’s tennis team opens the 2006 Southeastern Conference Tournament on Thursday, April 20, with a 10 a.m. (CT) match against No. 10-seed Tennessee in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The University of Alabama is hosting the event at the Alabama Tennis Complex, April 20-23.
The South Carolina-Tennessee winner will advance to face No. 2-seed Florida at 10 a.m. (CT) on Friday, April 21.
The Gamecocks wrapped up the regular season with a 13-13 overall record and a 5-6 mark in SEC play after winning four of its last five league matches. Tennessee is 9-10 overall and finished league play with a 3-8 record. The Vols won the regular season meeting between the two teams, 4-1, on March 12.
Fans can purchase tournament booklets prior to the event, please call 205.348.BAMA. An adult ticket booklet costs $15.00 and youth booklets are $8.00. Daily tickets can be purchased at the tennis complex as well. The ticket office will open 1 hour prior to the first match of each day. Adults tickets are $5, youth tickets (15 & younger) are $3 and college students are free with an ID.

Match 1: #6 Arkansas vs. #11 Vanderbilt, 10 a.m.
Match 2: #7 South Carolina vs. #10 Tennessee, 10 a.m.
Match 3: #8 Alabama vs. #9 Auburn, 2 p.m.
Match 4: #5 LSU vs. #12 Miss. State, 2 p.m.
Friday, April 21
Match 5: Match 1 winner vs. #3 Ole Miss, 10 a.m.
Match 6: Match 2 winner vs. #2 Florida, 10 a.m.
Match 7: Match 3 winner vs. #1 Georgia, 2 p.m.
Match 8: Match 4 winner vs. #4 Kentucky, 2 p.m.
Saturday, April 22
Match 9: Match 5 winner vs. Match 6 winner, 2 p.m.
Match 10: Match 7 winner vs. Match 8 winner, 2 p.m.
