SUNRIVER, Ore. — The South Carolina men’s golf team concluded its final practice round on Tuesday and will tee off today in the NCAA Championship, played at Crosswater Golf Club at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. The Gamecocks spent Tuesday evening with their host family during the tournament.

Head coach Puggy Blackmon felt that his team made strides on Tuesday while participating in its second practice round.

“As I expected, the team was much sharper and more focused for the second practice round. A 9 a.m. tee time allowed some quality practice time in the afternoon,” Blackmon noted. “Everyone is striking the ball well. Our final round at the (NCAA East) Regional has given us confidence. We have an early tee time tomorrow and need to get off to a solid start.”

Following the day of preparations, the team enjoyed an evening with their host family during the tournament, Steve and Jane Croley.

“Steve and Jane entertained us with a gourmet meal. Steve recently attended a cooking school and demonstrated his new culinary skills. Their home borders a nature reserve.”

The Gamecocks, who are seeded No. 27, will tee off in Wednesday’s first round beginning at 11:37 a.m. (EDT). Carolina is grouped with Loyola Marymount and fellow SEC member Auburn. Live Scoring is available throughout the tournament.
