COLUMBIA, S.C. —The University of South Carolina men’s tennis team has earned the 2006 ITA’s All-Academic Team and Tom Eklund, Adam Adler and Pedro Rodrigues have attained ITA Scholar-Athlete status, the organization recently announced.

Carolina is one of 35 Division I men’s teams to claim the All-Academic Team Award. Each of those teams has cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2. Eklund, Adler and Rodrigues met the requirements of with a minumum grade point average of 3.5 for the 2005-06 school year.

Eklund and Adler have both exhausted their eligibility at South Carolina and Rodrigues has one year remaining. The Gamecocks played in the NCAA Tournament for the 13th straight season in 2005-06, a streak that currently ranks as the eight-longest in the country.
