Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s soccer team (1-2) looks to continue its winning ways at home on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 3) hosting James Madison (0-3) with kickoff set for 1 pm at Stone Stadium. Sunday is Youth Day at Stone Stadium with all youth soccer players wearing their soccer jersey receiving $1 admission. USC is in the midst of a three-game homestand that includes a home match on Tuesday, Sept. 5 vs. The Citadel at 5 pm as part of a doubleheader with the men’s squad. The USC men’s team will face Centenary following the women’s contest on Tuesday night.

The Gamecock women’s team enters Sunday’s match vs. JMU coming off a 2-1 victory over Francis Marion. Sophomore forward Felicia Schroeder scored twice in the second half to help lift USC to the one-goal victory. It was Schroeder’s first career multi-goal game and the first by a USC player since last year when Alex Mouton scored two goals in a 2-0 win over Alabama.

This is South Carolina’s second career match against James Madison. Both teams met at JMU in the 2004 season with the Dukes earning a 3-2 victory in double overtime.
