CHAPEL HILL, N.C. —Senior Pedro Rodrigues and freshman David Wolff advanced to the finals of their respective flights on Saturday as the South Carolina men’s tennis team competed in the UNC Fall Invitational, presented by One-A-Day Vitamins, in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Rodrigues collected wins over Steve Dean of Charelston Southern, 6-0, 6-1, and Chris Kearney of UNC, 6-3, 6-4. He will take on North Carolina’s Sebastian Guejman Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for the Flight A-1 Singles title.

In Flight B-1 Singles action, Wolff cruised past Navy’s Adrian Lai, 6-2, 6-3, in his second round match and then defeated East Carolina’s Brian Walters, 6-3, 6-4, to move into the finals. He will face UNC’s Taylor Fogleman at 10:30 a.m. Sunday for the Flight B-1 Singles title.

In Flight A-2 Singles, Yevgeny Supeko went 1-1 on Saturday. Supeko fell to Maryland’s Boris Fetbroyt, 6-3, 7-6 (5) but bounced back to defeat UNC’s Andrew Crone, 7-5, 6-4. Freshman Pedro Campos earned a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over Duke’s Alex Stone, but fell to Karl Wishart of UNC in the flight semifinals. Campos won the opening set, 6-3, but dropped the second set 7-5 before retiring due to an injury while trailing 1-0 in the third.

Freshman Spencer Feldman advanced to the Flight B-1 semifinals on Saturday as well. Feldman topped David Rozek of NC State, 6-1, 6-3, before falling to Fogleman, 6-1, 7-6.

In Flight B-2, junior Joseph Veeder dropped a 6-4, 6-2 match to Ben Deloume of High Point and came back to defeat Jason Steinhorn of UNC-Greensboro, 8-2, in a pro set.

Also in B-2 singles, redshirt sophomore Thomas Stoddard was edged in three sets by Richard Cahi of Wofford, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (5) in his only singles match on Saturday.

In A Doubles action, Rodrigues and Campos teamed for an 8-2 victory over Kernodle and Webb of Wofford to reach the semifinals. The Gamecock duo was forced to retire due to injury in a semifinals contest. Supeko and Wolff were 8-5 winners over Davidson’s Bolton and Meyers in the consolation draw of A Doubles. Supeko and Wolff retired in their match with Kumreldi and Rebel of UNC-Greensboro.

In the B Doubles draw, Stoddard and Feldman defeated Gonzolo and Devilla of Temple, 9-8 (6), in consolation action. Stoddard and Feldman retired due to injury in the consolation semifinal.
