Orange Beach, Ala. – For the first time since the 1997 season, three players have earned All-SEC honors for South Carolina. Junior defender Courtney Cobbs, junior midfielder Ashley Kirk and freshman defender Blakely Mattern each were named to the All-SEC second team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

For Kirk, it is her third straight honor from the conference and second straight year she has earned all-conference accolades. This is both Cobbs and Mattern’s first honor from the SEC. Mattern was also named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

South Carolina opens SEC Tournament action on Wednesday evening against Vanderbilt with kickoff set for 8:30 pm ET (7:30 pm CT). Live audio broadcast is available at uscsports.com.
