The University of South Carolina men’s tennis team opens the spring portion of its season on Friday, Jan. 19, at the SEC Coaches Indoor tournament, played in New Orleans, La. The event runs Friday through Monday, Jan. 22, at the Rivercenter Racquet and Health Club with nine of the 12 conference schools represented in two singles draws and one doubles draw.

South Carolina will send three players to New Orleans. Juniors Jaime Cuellar and Yevgeny Supeko and freshman Pedro Campos will all compete in the 64-player Singles “A” Draw. Cuellar will face No. 3 seed Greg Ouellette of Florida at 10 a.m. CT in the first round. Supeko is scheduled to open against No. 5 seed Jesse Levine also from Florida, at 11 a.m. CT and Campos takes on Kaden Hansel of Tennessee at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Cuellar and Campos will play doubles as well. The duo will face Mississippi State’s Phillipe Frayssinoux and Ivan Bjelica at 3 p.m. CT on Friday.

The Gamecocks will embark on the start of dual-match play next weekend. On Sunday, Jan. 28, Carolina plays two matches, hosting the Wofford Terriers at 10 a.m. and the Troy Trojans at 2 p.m. in Columbia.
