Recap | Box Score | Notes

USC Coach Susan Walvius

“We talk a lot about our depth, but one area that we don’t have it is in the point guard position. When Lea (Fabbri) went down we ran Brionna (Dickerson) some there. The leadership from the point guard is a critical role, but that’s one area we don’t have a lot of depth. Lauren Simms is not a true point guard but she’s done well for us at that position.”

“We gave up transition baskets. You have to give Mississippi credit. There’s a lot of energy in this arena. This is a team that beat LSU and they’re a very good basketball team.”

“If everyone will bring their averages to the game because we play so many people, if you have one player step up you’ll do pretty good. That happened for (Mississippi) tonight. (Stacy) Booker is a good shooter, very good recently. Brionna has been very good recently, but they didn’t fall for us tonight.”

“I thought (Iva Sliskovic) played well. She wanted the ball inside. They did a nice job getting the ball inside. Iva got the ball in high post, was able to score there and I thought she played a good overall game.”

“I thought (previously) we made great strides offensively in our execution. Our exececution today was poor. Our cuts were soft, our passes were soft and we turned it over a lot. We talked about that at half. You have to credit the Mississippi defense because that’s very good. We gave up 76 points today and we’re a better defensive team than that.”
