POST GAME QUOTES

“The fans who had an opportunity to watch our last three minutes of the Vanderbilt game, this game looked similar to that the entire game (tonight). I’m really disappointed. We played with little poise. You get in this arena and you’re playing in front of thousands and thousands of people, you have to be able to handle that with a lot of poise. When’s the ball’s not falling for you, you need to rebound the basketball. We are leading the SEC in rebounding. We matched up well against Tennessee and did a decent job defensively , but our offense lacked poise and execution. It’s really unusual because I thought we made a lot of progress in that area.”

“Our lack of depth (at the point guard position) showed today. You have to have your point guard play with poise. I’m not sure you can take anything away from a game like this. We have to rebound. We came into this game confident. I thought we could and expected to win this game. Our team is executing better, we are a much better basketball team this time of year than we were last year, but you wouldn’t know it from watching today.”

“Individually our kids are trying hard but they’re not coming together. They like each other and they are really nice, but we need somebody to do something like Tre Kelley did for (the South Carolina) men’s team. We need somebody that will get in the faces of their teammates to remind them of their pride and what they need to do. I’m disappointed with this one and I’m surprised. We are capable of playing a Tennessee team.”

“We were a very good road team last year. We’ve not played well on the road this year. We have to learn to handle that better. We have a lot of factors that we have to overcome.”

“Fans are a huge part of the game. The fans here today were a huge part of the game. They were really loud and cheering their team on. Our fans do the same thing for us. We play with a lot of pride at home. We play well and we want to play well for our fans. When our fans support us for LSU (this Sunday) we can beat this LSU team.”

“We have to play a little stronger. You can’t throw the ball away 34 times and expect to win the game. We’re going to have to play with more poise because (LSU is) also good defensively. They are different than Tennessee but they are just as good.”
