Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina Equestrian team will travel to New Mexico State Saturday, Feb. 10 for a 1 p.m. (ET) competition. The Gamecocks look to improve to 2-1 on the road and 6-1 overall. The Aggies, who are opening their spring season, are 1-4.

The Hunt Seat team improved to 6-0 on the year last weekend when they defeated Oklahoma State 12-8 at OneWood Farm in Blythewood. Competing for the Gamecocks in equitation on the flat will be Lisa Bourbonierre (Toronto, Ontario), Jessica Boll (Ada, Mich.), Sarah Lowe (Augusta, Ga.), Kristen Terebesi (Glenmoore, Pa.), and Kelley Campbell (Keysville, Va.) In equitation over fences the Gamecock riders will be Megan Massaro (Summerfield, Fla.), LIndsey Pace (Camden, S.C.), Ashley Rhode (Alpharetta, Ga.), Sarah Stephens (Chalfont, Pa.), and Terebesi.

The Western team is looking for its second victory of the season and hopes to improve their record to 2-5. In reining, the Gamecocks will be led by senior Rachel Sternoff (Redmond Wash.), juniors Lindsay Williams (Sand Springs, Okla.) and Allison Bradley (Lancaster, Cali.), sophomore Rebekah Roof (Lexington, S.C.) and freshman Kristina Papendick (Rapid City, S.D.). Riding for the Gamecocks in horsemanship will be Katie Grossnickle (Winona Lake, Ind.), Katy Biffle (Orange Grove, Texas), Bradley, Papendick, and Sternoff.

The Gamecocks will face Auburn on Feb. 24 in Alabama before returning to Blythewood Mar. 3 when they host the Georgia Bulldogs in their last home competition of the season.
