Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s soccer team has earned the NSCAA team academic award after its squad posted a GPA higher than 3.0 for the 2005-06 academic year. Head coach Shelley Smith’s squad compiled a cumulative 3.20 team GPA last season to earn the academic award.

Carolina was also recognized individually last fall when both Annie Galloway and Erin Geldhof were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team. Galloway ended up earning second team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as well. This year’s team had 11 players named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. (Laura Armstrong, Kim Boulos, M.A. Foster, Annie Galloway, Erin Geldhof, Kimmy Gillespie, Monica Hogan, Kali Neumann, Erin Sullivan, Lindsay Thorstenson, Mary Worthen).
