South Carolina Women’s Golf 2007-08 Schedule
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head coach Kristi Coggins announced the 2007-08 South Carolina women’s golf schedule Monday. The Gamecocks will compete in nine regular season tournaments beginning with the Cougar Classic, Sept. 9-11.
South Carolina heads to Kiawah Island to participate in the tournament hosted by College of Charleston before traveling to Nashville, Sept. 14-16, to compete in the Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship. The Gamecocks then travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., from Oct. 5-7, to compete in the Lady Tar Heel Invitational, a normal staple on the Carolina schedule.
The fall season concludes with trips to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the UA-Ann Rhoades Intercollegiate from Oct. 26-28, followed by the NGCA Match Play Championships, Nov. 4-5, in Orlando, Fla.
Carolina’s spring season will be familiar territory for the Gamecocks as they return to four of the five tournaments that the team competed in during the 2006-07 season. The pairings begin Feb. 24-26 at the Lady Puerto Rico Invitational, followed by a trip to Baton Rouge for the LSU Cleveland Classic, March 14-16. The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic from March 21-23 will take place in Athens, Ga. The Gamecocks close out the regular season March 28-30 at the Bryan National Collegiate, held in Browns Summitt, N.C.
The SEC Championship moves to Knoxville, Tenn., this year for the first time since 1996. The Gamecocks, who finished tied for third when the conference championship was last held in Knoxville, will look to improve upon last season’s fourth place finish at the SEC Championship.
NCAA Regional Championships will be held May 8-10 followed by the NCAA Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., May 20-23.
