COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s soccer team will play host to Presbyterian College in its home opener on Tuesday night at Stone Stadium. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Carolina begins the home portion of its schedule fresh off a 1-0 upset of intrastate rival and 12th-ranked Clemson last Friday.

Carolina holds a 9-0 all-time record against Presbyterian, while Tuesday’s contest marks the first meeting between the two schools since the 1995 season.

PC opened its season at the College of Charleston Saturn Classic last weekend, falling to both Birmingham Southern and Mercer, 1-0.

Carolina’s Last Time Out:
South Carolina freshman Blake Brettschneider scored the game-winning goal in his collegiate debut as the Gamecocks upset No. 12 Clemson, 1-0, on Friday night in the season opener for both schools in front of a crowd of 6,300 at Riggs Field in Clemson. Brettschneider scored the lone goal on an assist from junior midfielder David Smith in the 109th minute of the contest. Brettschneider led the offensive attack with four shots on goal, while senior midfielder J.D. Moon and sophomore forward Bryan Lowder each contributed two shots on the net. Freshman goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer collected seven saves in his first collegiate start.
