COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s soccer team received its highest rankings in school history this week after knocking off then-No. 1 North Carolina and ETSU this past weekend. The Gamecocks (2-0) peaked at No. 13 in the Soccer America poll, earned its highest ranking ever in the Soccer Buzz poll at No. 21 and entered the NSCAA/adidas Coaches poll at No. 22.

South Carolina also jumped from sixth to fourth Soccer Buzz Southeast Regional poll, tying its highest mark set in 1999.

The Gamecocks were previously unranked in all three polls but were receiving votes in the Soccer Buzz poll. It is South Carolina’s first top 25 ranking and second time ever been ranked in a regular season poll. South Carolina achieved a No. 29 ranking last season the week of Oct. 2.

The Gamecocks return to action this weekend in the UCF Tournament held in Orlando, Fla. USC will take on UC Davis in Friday’s opener at 5 p.m. and conclude against UNLV on Sunday at 11 a.m.
