COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s soccer team is a consensus top 20 pick for the third consecutive week in all four polls released Tuesday. The Gamecocks (8-1-0) peak at No. 10 in the Soccer Times poll after dropping its first match of the season to ranked Clemson Friday and defeating Marshall Sunday.

Carolina is ranked No. 12 in the NSCAA/adidas coaches poll and second in the NSCAA Southeast region poll, the highest placing team from the Southeastern Conference in the regional poll. South Carolina moves to No. 15 in Soccer America and bows at No. 18 in the Soccer Buzz rankings. In addition, the Gamecocks improve one spot to No. 3 in the Soccer Buzz Southeast region poll, Carolina’s highest appearance in the Soccer Buzz regional poll after sitting at fourth the past three weeks.

No. 12 South Carolina returns to action Thursday in a nationally televised game against Southeastern Conference foe No. 10 Tennessee. The game, scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff in Knoxville, will broadcast on the Fox Soccer Channel in the SEC opener for both teams.
