South Carolina Head Coach Susan Walvius
“We knew that [Alabama A&M] would be a challenge for us, and we did a good job coming out and controlling tempo. We did a really good job feeding the ball inside especially in the second half. Brionna Dickerson did a good job of getting her shot, and Jordan Jones did a good job as well.”

“This was a better game from the UConn game in the sense that we were much more balanced. We need our perimeter to understand that we need to go inside more. We need to take advantage of our size and experience inside, and we did a better job of that tonight.”

“This was one of our better balanced games that we have had. We were able to see the floor much better in our transition game, but we still have to rebound the ball better to be the team we want to be.”

On improving after Monday’s loss at UConn:
Our whole team had focus today, we’re not the same team from Monday. We’re a much better team. It’s a step-by-step process. We’re trying to get everyone on the same track and healthy to be a better team.

On outside shooting creating opportunities inside:
We have powerhouses inside, so when we hit our outside shots we open it up for them. We try to work with each other.
