COLUMBIA, S.C. – Oklahoma standout Madelyn Randolph of Tulsa has signed with the South Carolina equestrian program for the 2008-09 season, head coach Boo Duncan announced. Randolph is one of two Western riders to sign with the Gamecocks in this fall.

Randolph was named the 2006 Oklahoma State Champion in Open and Youth Western Riding year ends awards. Ranked fifth in the nation in Youth Western riding, Randolph was named the 2006 Reserve Champion and 2005 overall champion in Novice Western Riding.

“How fortunate we are to have a rider like Madelyn sign with us,” Duncan said. “She has really proven herself in the show ring and will bring great horsemanship skills to our team. We are always excited to get a western rider out of Oklahoma. We think she is a perfect fit for our team.”

Randolph is the senior class president at Booker T. Washington High School and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is trained by Vicky Holt and is the daughter of John and Grace Randolph.
