COLUMBIA, S.C. – Pennsylvania native Taylor Singmaster, a Western rider with strong credentials, has signed to join the South Carolina equestrian team beginning in 2008-09, head coach Boo Duncan announced.

“Taylor is going to be a great addition to our team,” Duncan said. “She has great leadership skills and is a very accomplished rider on the AQHA circuit. I think she will have an immediate impact on our team in the horsemanship division in the fall.”

Singmaster (Lansdale, Pa.) was named the 2007 NYATT Western Pleasure Champion and the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) Non-Pro Maturity Western Pleasure Champion. She was a member of the River Cities Quarter Horse Association team that also earned the 2007 NYATT championship. Singmaster was a 2007 AQHYA World Show Finalist and finished third in the AQHA Youth 15-18 Western Pleasure division.

The Youth President of the National Snaffle Bit Association from 2006-08, Singmaster also placed on the 2006 AQHYA Year-End Honor Roll at sixth in Youth Western Pleasure.

Singmaster attends Bradenton Preparatory Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and plans to major in Art Studio at South Carolina. She is trained by Marybeth and Scott Gordon, and her parents are Rick and Mitzi Singmaster.
