COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer coach Shelley Smith has announced that her staff will conduct three summer soccer camps this year. A Day Camp, JR Elite and Elite Training Camp, and a Premier Level Camp will be offered this summer to help facilitate mental and physical growth in the development of soccer skills.
The Day Camp for Girls will be held June 16-20 for girls ages 5-12. Two options for the Day Camp will be available: a Half Day Camp (ages 5-12) and a Full Day Camp (ages 8-12). In these camps, players will be grouped by both age and skill level so that each child is challenged but not overwhelmed.
Junior Elite and Elite Training Residential Camps will be held Thursday, June 12 through Sunday, June 15. The JR Elite camp (Grades 5-8) is set up to provide the high level youth player the opportunity to train in a competitive environment and is geared for those aspiring to be selected for club and state teams. The Elite Training Camp (Grades 9-12) will focus on reining campers’ technical and tactical abilities.
The Premier Residential Camp (Grades 9-12) will be held July 24-27 (Thursday-Sunday). The goal of the camp is to stimulate a top collegiate training environment and is geared for soccer players looking to play at the collegiate level.
Those interested in participating will be able to register online at GamecocksOnline.com. Additional information will become available by the end of January. For more information or questions about any of the sessions, please contact the soccer office at (803) 777-1940.
