COLUMBIA, S.C. – Freshman goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer has added to an impressive list of postseason awards, as College Soccer News has selected him to the Third-Team All-Freshman squad, as announced by the organization this week. Maurer earned a number of postseason awards during his freshman season with the Gamecocks, having been named the 2007 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, while he was also selected to the Top Drawer Soccer All-Rookie squad in early December.

Maurer collected 11 wins during his rookie season, finishing the year with a 1.10 goals against average. He also recorded five shutouts and allowed just 21 goals. During the regular season, Maurer garnered adidas Gamecock Classic Defensive MVP and Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honors. Carolina finished its season with an 11-6-2 mark.
