COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team and head coach Mark Berson have announced camp dates for the spring and summer months of 2008. Carolina will offer seven different camps, including day camp and overnight camp opportunities for soccer players of all ages.

Campers reside in fully air-conditioned dorms. Trainers are on duty for the entire camp period. Previous camps have attracted teams from New Jersey, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Jacksonville, Charlotte and many other areas, which along with our South Carolina teams creates a competitive tournament atmosphere. ?Most importantly, a qualified staff will be on hand to give guidance and insight into the college game.

Camp dates are listed below.
Spring Break Camp: March 24-28, 2008 (9 a.m.-Noon)
Boys and Girls, Ages 5-12
A great spring tune up. This camp is designed for all soccer players from beginner to advanced and is a great way to get ready for your club and recreation seasons. The daily schedule is geared toward technical work and skill development. This is a fun week and a great way to meet and interact with our players. Each attendee will receive a free camp shirt. Campers will be trained by USC Men’s and Women’s Soccer staff and players.

June Day Camp: June 23-27, 2008 (Monday-Friday)
BOYS only, Ages 6-15
We feature a top staff of capable instructors who can demonstrate each skill fully. We begin every morning with a staff demonstration on individuals’ skills, break into our coaching groups by age level and ability, and begin playing. We finish the morning with matches in each age group. At Full-Day Camp, campers have lunch and attend an afternoon field session before swimming. At Half-Day Camp, the program is condensed into a three-and-one-half hour format without swimming or lunch. Enrollment is limited and these sessions have been sold out in the past. Full Day player will receive an adidas T-shirt and a soccer camp bag. Half-Day player will receive an adidas T-shirt. Day Camp ends at noon on Friday.

Premier Camp: July 17-21, 2008 (Thursday-Monday)
Boys, Ages 10-18
This is a developmental camp for the serious soccer player or team. Our premier camp program features a highly competitive tournament atmosphere, which has attracted some of the top individuals, teams and guest coaches from around the nation. Players will be grouped according to age and ability to provide a competitive environment. Sessions focus on technical and functional training by positions, along with small group and team tactics. The week features an ongoing team tournament in each age group, evening matches under the lights, small-sided tournaments and training at magnificent Stone Stadium. Campers will learn from our annual College Recruiting Night which features college coaches who provide insight into the recruiting process. Players will receive a comprehensive evaluation, an adidas T-shirt, and a soccer camp bag.

Team Camp: July 18-20 (Friday-Sunday)
Boys, High School JV and Varsity, Club Teams
The Senior Team Camp is based on a tournament format that allows coaches to work with their teams in match situations. Teams get multiple matches per day, both full field and small sided Coaches will have the opportunity to observe their team under match related conditions and make assessments based on those observations. This camp is open to Varsity and JV teams as well as club teams of high school age. Space in this camp is limited and has been sold out in previous years. Junior Elite Camp: July 25-27 (Friday-Sunday)
Boys, Ages 9-13
This is an intensive, accelerated school for the advanced player or team. Our curriculum will emphasize technique, tactics, small-sided play and full-sided matches similar to a college pre-season program. Some of the top players in the country have attended this camp, including several of our current players. ?Players will receive a comprehensive evaluation, an adidas T-shirt, and a soccer camp bag. Check-in is at 12 noon and checkout is at 5:00 p.m.

Senior Elite Camp: July 25-27 (Friday-Sunday)
Boys, Ages 14-18
This is an intensive, accelerated school for the advanced player or team. July Day Camp: July 28-Aug. 1 (Monday-Friday)
Boys and Girls, Ages 6-15
